Lightning in a Bottle
An Inventor's Workshop Adventure
A storm brings a power line down across the allotment path, and the last trains of the night will empty straight onto it. On Grandma Rosa's shelf is a machine she began in the power cuts of 1974 and never got to light. Ollie is sure a battery is a tank of electricity. Before dawn, his legs will teach him what it really holds.

About the Inventor's Workshop series
Inventor's Workshop is a series of illustrated adventures for readers aged ten to twelve about physics, engineering and technology. Ollie, who builds first, and Amara, who measures first, take half-finished machines from Grandma Rosa's shelf and finish them to solve real problems, with a stubborn homemade robot who refuses anything unsafe. Each book delivers one science or technology topic through a machine that works by real physics, and shows what it trades.
